Event banner for embedded world 2024 in Nuremberg (April 9–11). Gidel will be showcasing the Gidel Embedded Vision Platform at booth 2-559, featuring FantoVision edge computers and real-time FPGA image processing solutions.

At the event in Nuremberg (April 9–11, 2024), Gidel will demonstrate the Gidel Embedded Vision Platform to show how high-resolution and high-speed imaging can run on compact and low-power embedded systems. This includes single-camera, multi-camera, and 10GigE setups that maintain full throughput with no frame loss.

Gidel, a leader in high-bandwidth imaging and FPGA processing, will present its modular platform built on FantoVision edge computers and Gidel’s image-processing and compression libraries. Together, they deliver real-time processing directly on the FPGA.

FantoVision in the Gidel Embedded Vision Platform

FantoVision edge computers let developers build embedded vision systems on NVIDIA Jetson SoMs. The hardware supports high-resolution and high-speed cameras with interfaces such as dual 10GigE, 4× PoCXP-12, and Camera Link.

You can choose different FPGA devices for pre-processing and several Jetson modules, including Xavier NX and Orin NX 16 GB. For small embedded systems, visit the Mini Jetson Frame Grabber.

FPGA Processing and Developer Tools

The platform offloads image correction, HDR, and compression to the FPGA. This reduces CPU load and gives the Jetson module more room for AI tasks. Processing runs in real time with almost no added latency.
In addition, Gidel provides a comprehensive Imaging and Vision SDK that allows FPGA developers to implement their own custom algorithms directly on the FPGA. Learn more on the ProcVision page.

HDR and Compression in the Gidel Embedded Vision Platform

Visitors will see Gidel’s new HDR engine. It delivers high precision at high speed and handles difficult outdoor or high-contrast scenes.

Gidel will also demo Quality+ compression. It reaches ratios of 1:10 and higher while maintaining excellent SNR and image quality. This removes the usual trade-off between compression rate and visual clarity.

The Gidel Embedded Vision Platform delivers strong performance in SWaP-limited environments. Engineers working on aerial imaging, mapping, and mobile vision systems should visit Gidel at booth 2-559 to see the real-time demo.

Come and visit us at booth 2-559 to see the real-time demo.
